Cassard (D 614)

The Cassard (D614) is an anti-air frigate of the French Marine Nationale, lead ship of the Cassard type. She is the 10th vessel of the French Navy named after the XVIIIth Century captain Jacques Cassard. She is the sister-ship of the Jean Bart.

The Cassard was fitted with a number of prototype equipements which were later incorporated in the La Fayette type frigates.

Note: The French navy doesn't use the term "destroyer" for its ships; thus, some large ships, referred to as "frigates", are registered as destroyers.
